Tracking Membership Engagement

Tracking member engagement and interactions in Salesforce involves setting up processes and utilizing Salesforce features effectively. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Use Salesforce Custom Objects or Standard Objects:

    • Standard Objects: Utilize standard objects like Contacts, Accounts, and Opportunities to track interactions such as email opens, meeting attendance, purchases, and more.
    • Custom Objects: Create custom objects to track specific types of member engagements or interactions that are not covered by standard Salesforce objects. For example, you could create a “Member Interactions” custom object to log details such as event attendance, webinar participation, feedback submissions, etc.
  2. Implement Activity Tracking:

    • Use Salesforce Activities (Tasks and Events) to log member interactions such as meetings, phone calls, emails, and other engagements.
    • Customize Activity Types and record details related to member interactions directly within these records.
  3. Campaigns:

    • Create Salesforce Campaigns to track and manage member engagement related to specific initiatives or marketing efforts.
    • Associate Campaigns with member records (Contacts or Leads) to monitor their responses to campaigns, event registrations, and other activities.
  4. Employ Workflow Rules and Process Builder:

    • Set up Workflow Rules or Process Builder in Salesforce to automate actions based on member interactions. For instance, you can send a follow-up email after an event registration, update a member’s status based on their activity, or assign tasks to team members for follow-up.
